Stance for Scrubs

At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we started getting messages from healthcare workers at some of the country’s hardest hit hospitals, telling us how much of a difference our socks make when they are on their feet all day, and asking if there was any way we would send some out to their teams. The first came from @lindseylively_ , a Stance fan and ICU nurse at New York Presbyterian.

We had already been trying to figure out how we could best help, but with her insight, were able to put a plan into action that put socks directly into the hands – and onto the feet – of nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, and nursing home caregivers across the country. By the end of March, thousands of socks had been shipped to hospitals in New Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans, Denver, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, New Mexico, and many more.

Since then, over 300 hospitals, nursing homes and first responder units have received boxes of Stance socks to share with frontline teams. To date, 36 hospitals in New York and New Jersey have received shipments, and boxes have made it to 39 of the 50 States, including a Naval Hospital Ship and four hospitals in the Caribbean.

As the socks have gone out, pictures, notes, and videos have come in. We’ve heard hundreds of heart wrenching stories, but we’ve also seen thousands of smiles, and are in awe daily by the resolve and resiliency of our healthcare community.
