“We’re all tourists here. We’re visitors to this place and we are visitors to this life.”
- BEATRICE DOMOND
On the evening of Go Skateboarding Day, Stance teamed up with pro skater and Punk+Poet, Beatrice Domond, on a curated art show titled ‘American Tourist’. This was a group show highlighting artists from all walks of life, coming from different places, mindsets, personalities and interests in hopes of providing differing elements of representation and exploration. The show found common ground within uncommon spaces.
The event featured a select group of artists highlighting several different mediums of art ranging from photography to painting to mixed media. The Lower East Side gallery space was packed with big time names like Gino Ianucci, Glen E Friedman, Steve Rodriguez, R.B. Umalo, William Strobeck, Marc Razo, and Jim Jarmusch as well as other skaters, creatives, friends and fans of good art, who all came out to show love to Beatrice and support the local skateboarding, and creative community.
Guests were greeted with complementary drinks supported by Waiakea water, Guayaki Yerba Mate, Open Beer, and Lunar hard seltzers and pizza from Williamsburg Pizza.
